Could someone out there with a connection to President Trump please tell him that OHIO DOESN’T WANT HIS ENDORSEMENTS, prior to the Primary? This is true whether our Primary stays on May 3rd, 2020, or not. If anyone should know how nefarious pre-Primary endorsements are, it’s President Trump: Who in 2016 had to overcome all sorts of unfair “endorsements” for his challengers.
We should also remember that President Trump endorsed DeWine in the 2018 election. Just a year ago, Trump endorsed Bob Paduchik as chairman of the Ohio Republican Party just 3 days before the vote: Basically torching Paduchik’s opponent, John Becker: The very man brave enough to have brought Impeachment charges in the Ohio House against Mike DeWine.
And for those of you thinking that Trump would endorse Renacci, or even Blystone, how sure are you that he wouldn’t endorse DeWine again?
If you ask for Trump to endorse someone, you may get what you ask for; not what you were thinking.
Now, certainly: I know that if we actually do see Trump endorse someone other than DeWine, there will be a lot of elation from one group of conservatives or another. Maybe, depending on who it is, I might find myself in the cheering crowd.
But, I’d prefer we’d let God play this out. Everyone needs to stop trying to ‘cook the books’ by putting out these silly pre-Primary ‘endorsements’, which really are a power grab by the people GIVING the endorsements, as much as it is by those actively lobbying to receive them.
Ohio is in a pretty interesting position with the Gubernatorial Race this year: There’s a Dayton-area preacher, Niel Petersen, running as an Independent. There’s a cowboy farmer from Canal Winchester, Joe Blystone, who’s unafraid to drop the name of Jesus in a campaign speech or online post. There’s Candice Keller running for … Lieutenant… Governor, who championed the Heartbeat Bill, with the intent to save the lives of innocent babies. And there’s a devout Catholic from Medina, Jim Renacci, also running on the Republican ticket to primary the incumbent Governor. And incumbent Governor Mike DeWine has, through his actions during his administration, proven to be a godless tyrant, who can’t even follow man’s law, let alone God’s.
Let’s let God play this out. I have a feeling that He has something special planned for all those who’ve tried to corrupt, control and confine Ohio.
You never know if the thing you begin today from a small seed, might someday be a large organization. But one thing I hope that the Ohio Election Forum will always be is a place devoted to truth, to opportunity, to information, and equal availability. Not something that allows its leadership to grow so full of itself that it thinks it should decide for others who they should vote for.
I pray that we’re always hard-hitting. I think comparing what candidates write or say in a summarization is fair play. I think calling candidates out if they say something that is not as it is, is what ‘free press’ has always been about.
But ‘picking a winner’ is what YOU, the People, are supposed to do. At the polls; in the Primaries. (It’s still so ludicrous when you think about it, that some people try to justify as ‘necessary’ giving-out Endorsements prior to the specific election which is designed to pick an Endorsed candidate.)
